Made a quick trip to Lake Dunlap and caught a few Hogs. Caught 9 nice Redear in a little over an hour. Fished from 9am till 12noon. The Redear were in the 9 to 11 inch range with the largest Redear going 11.90". Four Bluegill in the 8 inch range and one Redbreast that was an even 10 inches rounded off the catch. Fish were caught on tree lines looking for food. Fish were in 4 to 7 feet deep water. Bottom techniques were used with live worms. All fish were healthy and fat and all were released to fight again. It was great to finally get some nice ones off of Dunlap!

Thanks "Newflyguysa" and "Dfitz" for the replies. It was to nice of a morning to pass up. I started out wearing a jacket.Fish really started moving around 11am. If I did not have to work tonight I would still be fishing. Left em biting.

Some good fishing there BAF. This warming trend should wake the gills up for some great mid fall fishing.

You are 100 percent right on this warming trend waking up the Gills. They are really going to be searching for food before the colder weather starts setting in.

Looks like you got into some nice Redear. Dunlap has been hit and miss all year long for you Sunfish guys. Glad to finally see some nice ones. Good job.

It's about time you got some good ones off of Dunlap! I am still having a hard time finding some good ones on Mcqueeney. Looks like you got em in water that was not that deep. I hope to find a few this weekend.

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Dunlap is picking up and the fishing has been good the last couple of weeks. Fish are very active right now looking for food before the colder weather sets in. Docks and tree lines have been super. Fish seem to be on the bottom. Several anglers I have talked with are saying they are catching some nice ones. Good luck this weekend. You may try your cove.

Hit the Creeks Curtis. Look at Robert's (Dafanman) report "Caught 11 Rios". He is nailing em on the Cibolo Creek. Hopefully you can make it to one of the local creeks before it turns cold.
