not gonna happen, plywood yes, dimensional lumber no.

get some #2 fir, get some fiberglass resin (wal mart has qts)1 qt.
get 1 qt of acetone, 3" brushes (throw away chip brushes), throw away mixing bowls (2 should be enough)I use the big butter tubs.

mix 2/3 resin to 1/3 acetone (guesstimate how much you need for the amount of wood you have) then add appropriate amount of hardener for the resin. mix good, brush on the dry fir (it will soak in and this is what you want). keep brushing until you are out of resin or it is running off the wood.
I lay out a pc of plastic (trash bags taped together will work) to keep it off the concrete.

let this dry for about an hr, repeat until at least 3 coats or the wood has a sheen to it.

let it dry for a full 36 hrs before using so the resin can cure some.

Ditto on the pressure treated boards. Most any lumber company and Lowes / Home Depot have them in 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 ft. lengths.

Just look them over good and select ones that are not bowed or twisted or with big knots. They will probably outlast your trailer.

Most trailers come from the factory with plain old untreated bunks just to save a couple bucks.

skeeterdon, was searching for the monel staples and found this at lowes "506 Stainless Steel 1000PK

Staples are 3/8 Inch (10mm) rust proof
Not intended for use in marine conditions and harsh saltwater applications

i guess monel and stainless are not the same?

got her done today. installed my new bunks- have to wait till next weekend to take her out. i only had 4 out of the 6 lag screws left and the wood, well it was pretty bad. was about 1/4 from the bottom of boat touching the bracket. going to have to check it at every launch now.
