It would have been much better had you called the GW and they could have picked up the net and removed the fish hazard.

These are the phone #s I have Falcon:

You can always call Falcon Tackle for info: 956-765-4866
GW Kevin Frazier 956-285-2275
Border Patrol 24hr # 800-343-1994
Report Illegal Activity Local # 765-9335

I live in San Antonio and carry these with me all the time.

James & Tommy please correct the phone #s I provided if they are out dates/incorrect.

Was down there Memorial Day weekend and saw several Mexican fisherman on the American side of the river in small coves, kinda figured they were setting nets. We did watch them going in a fast circle, I just figured they were drunk.

And here's another number that was given to me 2 weeks ago:

Bryan Dulock TPWD GW

605 North Hwy 83, Suite G
Zapata, TX 78076

Cell # 956 500 6271

This officer is ADAMANT about catching the illegal netters. The cell number is his personal cell that he keeps with him 24 hours a day. He asked me to share his # with anyone who could help him to stop the netters.

Some of That info is outdated. Kevin Frazier hasn't been on falcon in over 4 years. He is in Guadalupe county now. I can't speak to the remainder of it, however.

The numbers I was given last week are:

Cell: 956-202-3630

and 24hr line: 512-389-4848.

Was glad to see the GWs there respond so quickly. All of the GWs I have met at Falcon have been really good to deal with. They have been very professional and courteous with the public.

Great job guys!!!!

For you guys asking, if you want to know who your Game Warden is and how to contact him all you have to do is go to TPWD's website. At the bottom of the home page click "Game Warden" which takes you to the GW homepage. At the left of that screen is an index. The second item is "Find Your Local Game Warden" and they are all listed by county.

All that Talapia going to waste? Hope the TP&W guys had a fish fry after that haul. Ya, it's not legal on the Tx side but it does show how few actual bass are effected by the nets. While legally fishing on the Mexican side I have accidentally got wrapped up those nets and it's a major league pain getting it off your motor. Also feel bad about messing up some poor fishermans net that makes a few dollars a day running thses nets.

GWs said the fish would not be wasted. Said they would give it to anyone that wanted some to take home and cook. They offered us some but we were not set up to cook them. Said they let the local folks have the fish when they brought in a net like that.

I too am very careful with their nets, especially the main line. They are just poor fisherman for the most part just putting food on the table. I try to share the lake with them as I expect them to do with me. It's just part of the uniqueness of fishing Falcon or Amistad.

I think most everyone tries to be careful of the nets on the Mexican side and not tear them up. I don't know about the poor fishermen just trying to put food on their tables. They are running a commercial operation. From what I have been told, the guys running the nets are working for a big company. The company owns the boats, nets and pays the guys to run them. I would guess they don't get paid much if it is like most wages in Mexico.

Were those game wardens wearing bullet resistant vests under their life jackets?

I would imagine they were Pitdad. Most all law enforcement wears vest these days, whether they're at Falcon or your home town.

Everyone need to take the time to cut their nets. They won't play by rules so if y'all want fish to live then you better fight back.
