Well, I guess we can have a later start. I don't know if I have ever fished where they bit better later morning than early. Is that common Chris?

I went yesterday and it was on right after sun up. Was in one school of fish for 2.5hrs and another one for almost 3 hrs.

This is the size of shad they are eating, cleaned 8 fish and they all had about the same size in them.

This was around 9:30 am if I remember correctly.

Launched Highport, topwater was not too good to the left at first, then the birds hit on the second cove. Found second flock of birds to the right of Highport after that, that one lasted for about 2.5hrs. Other flock later was in the middle of the lake, last flock was behind the islands.

Used lures only. 4" sassy shad in yellow and silver glitter slab from RSR lures. First thing in the morning the slab worked better, after 9:30 am or so the sassy worked.

I wished I would have called Chris before my trip! I got up at 2am and made the 2 hour drive--then hauled a$$ to the islands- very dark out but I thought "Humm this doesn't look right" so I shut it down just before I ran aground. The area that I normally fish was just about dry. Worked around a few areas close to there and nada. Finally got ahold of Chris and he said should get better at lunch. at 11:30 the lunch bell range and fish were everywhere. No monsters but a bunch of box fish.

Texoma is awesome, I live too far to make it a one day trip. Weatherford to the big T, too tough on an aging back, knees, ankles, feet, wrists, elbows, neck , hands , will-power and more. Has to b a two day trip and stay at JD's cabins. If anyone can, get to Texoma asap the fish are fat and aggressive. There are some of the best guides available and they are the real deal. Texoma is a big lake, wear and tear on your boat in unpredictable winds etc makes a guide a sensible choice!
