Ok, for all you reel repair guys... I pride myself in being able to trouble shoot most problems and correct any issues, but this has me stumped, so input any information please. My problems are with a curado 100b, a chronarch sf, and a curado 200, all 3 are making a clicking noise on casting and retrieval. All 3 have recently been serviced by a reputable service company, I have disassembled, cleaned, and relubed all 3 multiple times, I have also replaced all bearings. After all work has been completed, the reels cast well until I make my first long distance semi forceful cast then the clicking noise returns. All reels were professionally cleaned and remain clean at this time. All bearings have 1 drop of oil, brake glides have been oiled with 1 drop of oil on a q tip. 2 brakes out and easy tension on the spool tension knob. This is driving me crazy because I can't cure it, and my reels are not performing to their standard. Please help any input will be appreciated.

The clutch on my curado's 200b's flat wore out. The pinion is hitting the spool shaft in free spool. It is not disengageing when you are casting. It is a small round plastic cam that moves the pinion from the spool. It is a simple fix.
One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

Sounds to me like a yoke spring might be missing in all of them or the yoke itself is installed incorretly. The other thing that sticks out to me is a bad brake pin. That is where I would look first.

If you want 'em fixed, correctly, send 'em to Shimano.

Check the metal brake pins and the black plastic brake collar they are attached to like Coast suggested. Also, look for any metal shavings or particles in or around the round metal band within the brake case.
Notorious point-of-failure for older Shimano reel spools, thereby causing a clicking/ticking noise.

If you want 'em fixed, correctly, send 'em to Shimano. Actually there are several people who frequent this board that are Shimano Trained and Authorized to service your Reels.

update: Thanks for all the input guys. So far I've only had a chance to break apart one, the curado 100b, the culprit was a loose brake pin. I spoke with southwestern parts yesterday about a solution. He recommended to remove the loose pin and remove the pin on the opposite side to maintain the balance. When I get home tomorrow I'll check the other two, I am assuming it is probably the same issue on the others also. All reels will be water tested this weekend. Again thanks for all the help.

Check for Cracks in the black part that holds the pins. If those spools get mishandled and dropped and they land on that end it can ruin the spool. Also backlash's getting caught in the pins will crack that part and the pins get loose.

I don't understand the oil on the brake glides. Any additional weight on the brake "stalks" will reduce spool performance.

If your brake ring is not cracked you can put the pin back in with Locktite 496 it is quite expensive though. I believe this is what Shimano puts them in to start with or the Japanese equivalint.

Not on the Glides. On the Brake Case itself. A light coat applied with a Q-tip will clean and protect from tarnish or other contaminites such as scratchs from Sand and such.

I don't understand the oil on the brake glides. Any additional weight on the brake "stalks" will reduce spool performance. I nomally put a couple dots on the brake housing and will use my finger to spread it around the pins and the housing.

Update for anyone else that may have this issue. All 3 reels had a crack in the brake pin housing. Pin with a crack and opposite side pin removed on all 3. All 3 now operating flawlessly now. Thanks to everyone that helped
