I tried winter golf gloves few years back and OK for a bit then they get wet. I tried waterproofing them but it didn't help.
Just my experience.

fingerless wool gloves with pull back mittens seem to work. Beware of neoprene with pull back fingers - it can limit circulation to the exposed fingers and make them hurt really bad.

Seirus Hyperlites are the best I've used. Can actually fish with them on,they are weather/waterproof/breathable. Got them at Academy a few years ago.they usually only carry them during winter and they are in the ski dept.
I love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!!

I have simms, they are fingerless neoprene type. They do a really good job. Keep some warmers in your pocket for the ride but the combo really gives you comfort and freedom to feel whats going on

medical gloves with NO other glove over them seems to work the best for me. Prevents your hands from sweating as bad and for sure keeps the wind off.

This is what I do, and it works well. I buy 3 pairs of light wool glove liners and 1 pair of XXXL deer hide leather gloves at the hardware store. I work mink oil into the leather very well. After a couple of hours of fishing my hands have sweated enough that my fingers start to get cold. I change the liners to a fresh dry pair and put the same deer hide gloves back on over the fresh liner. That keeps my hands warm in the coldest weather. The reason most people's hands get cold is because they buy gloves that fit snuggly over their fingers. That is the worse thing you can do. Buy gloves that are two sizes too big, because air is a great insillator inside the glove. The same thing goes for hunting boots. Buy hunting boots that are big enough that you can cross your toes inside without struggling. 2 or 3 sizes larger than normal usually does the trick. Your feet will stay warm and your toes will not hurt.
