Great place to catch speckled trout, redfish and bass all in one place. I grew up there and use to fish around the shellhop a lot. That's near where the train crosses the bayou. Sometimes I would catch castnets full of shrimp and fish with those. Good luck.

Don't know if it's even there anymore. Even if not though, you would just go east if launching at hwy3 and go just past the railroad crossing and fish the left side where there's shell along the shore. There use to be a big bulkhead there. Does anyone else know if it's still there?

Just looked at mapquest and it looks like they cleaned it up. Still looks like it has a bit of the shell and structure around it though. We would catch some there and on the opposite shore. Other than that, the more you go the opposite direction, the less salty the water was if that helps. Good luck...

The shell bank is still there along with the bulkhead I can almost always manage to pull a red off the bulkhead before the train tracks.......
