the revo s is really my first "great" baitcaster i have enjoyed. is the stx gen 3 worth spending the extra $60 for the dual magnetic and centrifugal brakes as well as the extra ball bearings? please if you have experience with both, reply. also i was looking at the johnny morris BPS series- carbonlite, signature, and the BPS extreme low profile reel (6+1 bearings)
anyone have experience with these? thanks

I think the stx is extremely well priced. I've felt both and the stx just feel WAY better to me

I have 6 SX Revos. They are great reels. I don't have any STX but those I know that do love them.

We have 10 Revo STXs. I won't fish with anything else. I think it's definitely worth the money. If you look on eBay, you can find them for about $150 brand new usually. We've probably ordered 5 that way.

The reel that I use the absolute most is a Revo PRM (premier) because it is the lightest reel that I have ever had and a great reel. I have a S, SX also, but prefer the PRM.
I do want to try the Johnny Morris Carbonlite because of the price.

I have both the Pro Qualifier and Johnny Morris BPS carbonlite and this passed summer I was using the Spro little john DD and that thing flow with the JM. So from what I can tell is it much smoother. Maybe it was the rod set up but I've started buying the JM over the PQ.

Thanks for giving your opinion. This really helped me decide. I'm now between the STX and the Johnny Morris (premier too pricy) Because the sx has magnetic brakes. I have the s with centrifugal and they work great now I want both.
Anyone else know which is better through experience? STX or Johnny Morris series?

Have the older gen Revo STX and the gen3 SX and STX. The new reels are tiny compared to the older generation. I prefer the new SX to the old STX and love the gen3 STX.
Can't beat them.

The STX is worth the money and furthermore if you can find any of the Gen2 Premiers at the sale price they have been running, they are even a better reel for a better value, IMO ....

Nothing beats the feel of a Revo STX. The SX is awesome too but it's worth dropping the extra cash for the STX. Additional ball bearings do make a difference, you'll notice right away.
