I was thinking about taking off work tommorow and driving an hour to get there.Would it be worth it?

Weekdays are the worst for vehicle breakins! Be careful. The weekends will start getting crowded until the cold water lakes turn on in the spring. Vehicle/crowd? Still a good lake to fish.
