I left a hook on my carpet and now have rust on my carpet. Anyone know how to remove rust?

Consider using a product called Iron Out that is available at most grocery stores in the cleaning products isle. It is a powder that is a blend of sodium bisulfite and sodium hydrosulfite. Apply a water solution of the Iron Out and it will reduce the iron oxide to elemental iron that you can rinse away or suck up with a W/D vac.

Try it on a rusty bolt first to see how it works.
