I have a 96 210 Cajun that I just bought and when I went to fill it up for the first time all the gas I pumped in came back in my face. I asked the guy and he said that he just had to pump real slow..... So I'm curious if anyone has ran into this and fixed it? Seems like a vent issue but I haven't had a chance to really look at the venting yet.

I have a Ranger and have to start slow until some of the air is purged. I then gradually speed up the flow. Does not take long at the low flow. It seems like to vent line gets a temporary vapor lock or something. Been like that since new.

What are the year models on your boats? And does your fuel inlet go straight to a 3" hose then the tank?

My Skeeter does the same thing, sometimes the nozzle has to be Upside Down or on its Side to pump with any velocity. Play around with it.

Make sure the vent hose is above the fill hose to the tank.
Put the plug in.

On my Champion I can pump the gas fast but I have to slow down the flow just before I stop the pump or it will squirt out.

Sounds like it is getting gas faster than it can vent the air from the tank threw the vent hose, I had this problem before on a older boat & ended up changing the vent hose size but that's back when the fill hose & vent hose were seperated & not at one gas fill cap.

Well I went out and looked at my lines going to and from the tank. And I found that my vent hose looks like it runs from my main tanks inlet to my aux tank inlet. So I'm going to try and open both caps on next fill up and see what happens.

I have a 94 stratos and it does the same thing... I have just slowed down the fuel going in and hoped it did not blow back but I will try the tip about removing the second cap upon filling.

My Xpress does that also. Like mentioned above. Start slow, less than one click, then as the tank starts to vent, you can speed it up. I also turn the nozzle upside down. I have found that helps for whatever reason.
Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

Maybe just a coincidence but I have found that filling on a slight slope at the gas station with the rear of the boat being the highest helps. But you don't always have a choice with this. Also helps to not let tank get below half empty.

Make sure the vent hose is above the fill hose to the tank. this I had the same issue with my old Skeeter and I ended up taking the slack out of the vent hose by cutting it and tieing it up.
