I spent about 9 hours there last night only to bring in 1 dink. Game warden came out and busted 2 guys fishing for cats with baby crappie and one guy with out a fishing lic. I think that might have been my last trip out there, nice guys running the place it just seems like it is getting dirtier and dirtier and not cared for. Im dont mean to speak ill if the place but I just dont think the place is for me.

Thanks for the report. Thought about fishing at the barge many times but I changed my mind every time. How did the game warden knew they were using baby crappie for bait? Were there a lot of people?

im not real sure. He made them get rid of the crappie and wrote warnings and ticketed for no lic. I was a bit surprised that they didn't give tickets.

oh yeah, dog food and bread floating everwhere, then they come alond and trough tubs full of soured corn in. I may be wrong about this but since a catfish will eat small fish (young crappie included) doesn't it seem counter productive to chum the water and consistently bait it for catfish if your hoping to have a good crappie population?

That area seems to have big catfish around it anyway. I think they may be trying to get some of the big blues to get a little closer to the barge. They had some kind of dock out in front of the barge with giant white air bags attached to it for awhile. Anyone know what that was all about?

the barge broke loose awhile back, that may be marking the anchors.
