Heres the scenario: Youre a backseater. Your boater is fishing a pegged plastic worm, and fishing parallel to rip-rap (rocks), with the bow of the boat pointed into the wind. The wind is blowing towards the rocks at an angle. As a backseater what other techniques can you use? Quite often you will have to cast behind the boat. Thanks, in advance, for your suggestions!

Find a fast moving bait like a spinnerbait or crankbait and beat it off the rocks.

Throw behind the boat. Different angle will catch different fish. Be prepared to lose baits, don't make the guy go get them- not his job.

I would throw a c-rig covering as many depths as I could from where the boat sat. And a crankbait the same way.

Thanks, for the suggestions! Bassdreamer a question about that c-rig. Would you use the lightest lead egg sinker that you could keep on the bottom, or something else?

I would throw out a Wave Tiki stick watermelon red magic with a split shot and just drag it behind the boat. You have to be patient but you will probably catch the bigger fish!

Questions about the backseat are always of interest to me. Those that have seen my post before, I talk a lot about Berkley Nanofil. Answering this question will be no different. You mentioned that the boat is pointed into the wind. Don't like throwing off the back of the boat for fear of getting hung up. My suggestion is to throw a weightless fluke using Nanofil and watch it land in the next county! Keep popping it on the surface imitating a feeding frenzy. Watch the water around you start to come alive. Then cast into the activity and wear the boater out with your catch. You might only get less than keeper size doing this, if so starting throwing spinner bait or Med crankbait. If that doesn't produce keepers, then go the fluke on a C-rig. Alternate this pattern as the boat moves down the the bank. If you have three rods setup for this, you can cover a lot of water in the short time your boater is beating the bank. Remember that by popping a fluke on the surface is like ringing a dinner bell. Ring it awhile, but don't expect anything to chime in. Just get ready for the next pattern.
As a Backseater, I love to take advantage of the wind at my back, just remember if it get hung up, break it off!
