Well looking to get a non level wind reel that I can cast a country mile. I have been looking at several reels but the one that caught my attention was the Squall.

Has anybody used one of these or something similar? Doesn't have to be lever drag! Trying to stay under $250 or so.

I bought a few of them the big ones I think they are called 60's. Good looking reels should hold up nice.

I have a 60 squall lever drag and I am mostly happy with it. Most of the lever drags are gonna be pretty difficult to cast. I second the Avets MC I've got two and plan on buying more.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Penn Squall is Nice, but the Avet SX with or without the MC is the way to go!!!

If casting is the priority look at a Fin-Nor 095 spinning reel, I bet the drage numbers will be equal or maybe more with the FN095, holds 500 yds of #100 braid, built like a tank. I saw bricks thrown with one! On a StCroix Mojo rod.
