I would like some help on the sabine river for a first time visitor to the area (freshwater). I am going to bring my teenage son to the area (we will launch off of simmons road)

Any help would be apprecitated. Should we run south, run north off I10? What areas to target and what to look for to shorten our learning curve there. What dangers to look for when navigating?

Thanks

Just stay in the middle of the river when running and you should be fine. Some of the points run out a little from openings and islands but thats about it.

You can run safely with no worries up to around West Bluff, anything past that proceed with caution if you are not familar with the river.
