those big shads sure are slimy stays on the hook well too!

I have always seen the shad records but I didn't think a cast net was a legal method to submit a record on....perhaps the all tackle. I think personally I would use that lovely piece of bait to try to catch a record catfish.

I caught a 18 3/4 inch shad on a 1/2 oz blue and silver tattle trap at calaveras once, sure wish I would have turned it in for the record.(fish was hooked in the mouth)

Was used for cut bait.

I caught one so big at the tawakoni boat ramp last night, it was bigger than that! I left it in the live well and used all the other bait before I called it a bust no fish were biting so I let that monster shad go so I can catch him in my net again one day! I almost cried when I let it go but the fish weren't biting for nothin.

here is one we caught on a slab two days ago...we do it all the time.
