Is there a trick to keeping the hook pointed up after tying a Palomar knot?

Bring your tag end back through the eyelet with the hook in the upward position

Some folks say that fishin on a Sunday is a sin, but if a fish bites my line, you know I'm gonna reel him on in!

Also, make sure that you adjust your knot on the hookeye after you put the line back through and add the weight.. The hook should stand straight up and down and with the weight on. thumb

This works great, but since dropshot hooks normally have small eyes. You are limited to line size which isn't that important since most folks will go smaller than 15#. This year there are two new hooks specifically for dropshot. Both style use a swiveling hook. One uses a line snug on the lower side so you only have to tie once. I like these but can't Rembrandt who makes them.

If you use the stand-out drop shot hooks this problem goes away.

A buddy of mine gave me a Gamakatsu Swivel shot G hook and it works great. Swivels eliminate line twist. You should you tube it and see how easy it is to hook and unhook. Kind of pricey for a 3pk but its not like you lose a lot of hooks drop shotting unlike Crankbaits.
