WoollyBugger,
I recognize that lunch spot on the ranch. The Culebra is awesome, and Van has managed quite a fishery from zones 1-3. Lots of fish- big ones...

My wife and I have fished with Van in Wyoming. Funny how many people think that the flaming gorge is the spot, and there's plenty of articles to support that fact. So here come the anglers and lots of them. However if it's solitude you want, I feel the amazing fishery below Fontenelle reservoir provides many opportunities at bigger fish. Match this with untouched scenery and few visitors, this one is certainly underrated.

Van knows this - that's why he specializes in guiding this part of WY

I dont think Van "manages" that water.....just has access!!!

God does not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent fishing.

Gudfshn3,
As a member of the Solitary Angling club, I know he owns some of the access mileage as well as leases other riverfront access sections. On the Culebra, he has managed certain areas by putting in habitat. With the help of Tailwaters Gallery and Fly Shop, they make sure to rotate sections with clients so there are at lease a couple days or more between fisherman. I have been happy to fish there and highly recommend it.

I went up to the Culebra a couple weeks ago with the Amarillo Fly Guys and fished on the Solitary Angling Club water. AWESOME. Big fish, little water.
