Had my first 36 hr tuna trip sun-mon.Was some rough seas which made for a 2 hr delay, then off we went. 8 hr ride out till first stop. Being new to the tuna trip we obviously didnt bring the bait we needed. But Capt John made first stop and it was non stop black fin, until we ran out of sardines(which we borrowed)Everybody on the boat was hooking up. After around 2 hrs, 35 fisherman had 200 blackfin on the floor of the vessel along with tons of bonita. Great action, except we filled all the coolers up and no more room for fish and it was way early!. Left there to go a few hours further for some vermillion snapper and then cut the trip short due to no more cooler space. Fun while it lasted, just wasnt expecting a boat to run out of cooler space. Never made it to the deep waters for yellow fin. Not complaining just didnt expect the trip to be shortend due to Too many fish, too little space.

I was on the boat with you. I was fishing up front, left side, the guy with glasses and an American flag hat.

What you experienced was a once in a lifetime type of trip. To almost fill all of the boats coolers in less than 3 hours was amazing. Plus all of the Tuna was above average to large sized, something that never happens. In short this was an unbelievable trip, one I'll never forget.

I ended up with 12 large blackfin, at least 7 or 8 bonita that I tossed back, several sharks, and multiple break offs. I had so much intense fishing time at the first stop that I didn't fish too much at the second stop. Overall the best tuna trip I've ever been on!

Hey Bud! Yeah you were killin them, it was a great trip. I just didnt know a boat that size would run out of space, lol. Man watching you with the top water blowups was a blast. We all had a good time, had 17 black fin between the 3 of us and lots of bonita a few sharks and lots of beeliners. Good to see ya on, will be looking for more of your posts since I wont be back till next year probably.

I've never seen the boat run out of space before and that includes the trip where we put 800 smaller mahi mahi on the boat. The size of the bft on this trip was fantastic!

I try and make the trip twice a year - spring and fall.
