Afternoon yall,

Anyone here often kayaks Lake Houston?

Im trying to put aside some gas money to get there when its starts cooling down further.

Ive been checking on Navionics and trying to find ideal spots for bass fishing.

This spot is about half a NM north of the FM1960.

If so, can any of yall spare any advice or tips for kayakers?

I grew up on that lake and you dont need to travel far. Launch at the marina on the Huffman side. There is a long row of boat docks loaded with brush in the subdivision right next door to the boat launch. The subdivision is called Lakewood Heights. One of the best places on the lake. Dark colored worms (junebug was my favorite), dark jig and craw combos, square bill cranks, and spinner baits. work those docks slowly with a jig or worm and there are plenty to fish the whole day there in a kayak. Let me know how you do....

Thanks!!
I'll definitely post a report here.

Seeing the water on Google maps, Im guessing the water is always well stained.

Water is always stained. Check out Luce Bayou. Plenty of bass in there. Launch at the Ponderosa I think it's $7.00 but not sure. I have a yearly pass.
