Was back on the Lake yesterday and made the run from Jordan to Indian.

Beware--Stumps are out of the water in the through the first cut. I have them all marked on GPS but still got one right on the South side and it is BIG. No damage but someone will knock a lower unit off.

I thought about heading into indian Sunday but saw how far the rock pile south of wolfe island was out of water and decided to turn around. I don't know the boat lanes that well and wasn't going to risk it.

There is also no "boat lane". there are some clearings that use to be pasture land but no boat lanes were made before the lake was filled. You run past the poles N of Jordan and your on your own.

Glad to have taken..."the trash in the back!"

This is just at Magic Point and Richardson where you can take a right and run up to Buck or veer left and go to Indian.

The Icons are where I marked the stumps when the lake was way down several years ago. Apparently didn't mark the one I hit, thought it was to far to the south.

No marked boat lanes. But Wilcox can run that lake in any case.

I remember were the creeks were before the timber fell when the lake opened before GPS. The lanes are imbedded in my memory using landmarks such as water towers and other points of interest for navigation. The lake still deserves respect and common sense goes along way, but I often run from the bridge way back in IDB to the Marina with a blindfold and one eye open to impress my friends. peep

Just use the Blue Heron boat lane and you will be fine. Look off in the distance in the direction you wish to travel, find a blue heron sitting on a stump, or in the top of a tree, run wide open throttle straight at the bird and shut down just before you hit it. Has been working on Toledo Bend for decades. Otherwise sell you're boat and take up golf.

I never said you couldn't make a run if you know the lake. But all the talk about safe boat lanes had to stop. Ive been running the lake since before it was full and regularly run all over the lake.

And what is your point?

Everyone that uses the Lake is well aware there are no boat lanes.

The reason for the post was to let us that use the lake be aware that the lake is low enough that the MAIN CUT towards Indian and other areas accessed through that area have tree stumps high enough to damage your boat-- BTW --the water level at that CUT is 30+ feet.
