Bad stuff:

http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/10/15/4336794/man-missing-after-cabin-cruiser.html

I was on the lake until about 1:00 and didn't see any waves big enough to swamp a 26 footer, it must have got a lot rougher later in the day.

I would really like to know what kind of circumstances would cause a boat that big to sink.
I cannot see how one wave can sink a boat that big, and I would like to understand so that I might have a chance to avoid a similar outcome.

Yeah there has to be more to the story. Are 12 people too many for a 26ft boat?

Put the plug in.

I was on EM at the time this happened but didn't see anything. Waves weren't bad from the wind so if a wave caused this it must have been a wave from a very large boat.

I wouldn't want to be on a 26ft'er w/ 11 other people.

From what I understand it was wake from another passing boat. "IF" all twelve or even the majority of them were on one side or the other at the time the wake hit I could see it tipping, taking on lots of water suddenly then sinking. Just a thought though.

Boat was at anchor and wheel was hard over when Captain gave her full throttle for some reason. Sad to see but glad it was not worse.
