It makes everyone who loves to fish the banks look bad. No wonder why land owners don't want anyone fishing on their property. Just my two cents. Can't stand anyone who has no respect for the outdoors.

I always pick up my trash after I fish. I've seen people dump their trash at Grapevine lake at Oak Grove Park (Trawick Boat Ramp). They were doing overnight fishing, when they left the area was littered with cans, bottles, Walmart bags, urine smell, etc. What was bad about this was the trash can was 10' from them. It's not like it's full. My dad and I plus a lady cleaned it up before we left. It just ticked me off when people don't respect the environment. I would love to go to their house and trash up their place and see how they feel. My two cents..

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the majority of the trash comes from people that went fishing and not actual fisherman. I've never been lucky to catch someone littering but around my normal bank fishing spot I've seen stuff brought out as if almost for the sole intent of leaving it there(lots of burnt paintcans and other things that one would not normally bring while fishing). It seriously should be a 1st degree misdemeanor to litter at public parks and facitlities.

Like MrBankangler, I pickup myself and also pickup some trash near me. Those people who left trash behind will not read this thread. For us who read this, pick up some trash as we can. Next day when we go to the same spot, it will be better. I am sure it would make us feel better with a bag of trash when we did catch any fish, at least for me.

This is what I found at the local creek this past weekend.

I could say a number of things that can put me on the WOS right now.

Time to set up deer cameras to catch these lazy people.

Trash is a part of being in one of the biggest cities in the country. Sad but true.

Not just a city problem . I fish Tankersly creek quite a bit and this past summer some idiots dumped two large televisions into the creek . You drove all this way down a backroad to throw 'em in the water ? Seriously ?

I notice this every time I go to Kirby, it's sad. Especially since they have quite a few trash cans. I'm surprised they don't have people out from JDC to clean up out there. I've driven through Lubbock and numerous times they have the orange crew cleaning around the loop.

I really want to just go about picking up all the trash around our area next time and the fishing is slow. Usually we just walk the shore looking for good finds (we've found numerous nice lures).

We recently got back from Brownwood State Park and it was so great having a nice clean area to fish from. I found some plastic water bottles and a worm cup that I picked up, but other than that, and a Dr. Pepper can I reeled in, the place was spotless.

I live in the country and have a pond on my place that I keep mowed around for easy access. My rules have always been don't leave any trash and I let people come fish on a limited basis. I have had to tell two different ones that they were not allowed back because of the trash on the ground and one was a neighbor! No excuse for it at all.
