I guess I am just dense!
I have read the online explanation of who needs a Texoma fishing license....the more I read the "confuseder" I got!
My dad is 89 and I am 67 years old. We are both Texas residents. I have a Senior Super Combo License and he has no license and is not required to in Texas.
One section I read clearly said we neither one needed a license and another clearly said we had "better just buy a Lake Texoma license" to be sure.
We can certainly afford the $12 Texoma license, but if we don't need it we could give that money to the tackle stores for slabs, etc.
Is anyone sure?

Your dad is not required to have one but you are.

Good luck and good fishing!

Looks like if you are 65 and over you do not need a license. Pulled this from the current OK site for non-resident license.

"Annual nonresident fishing license is required for nonresidents who take, attempt to take or possess fish or other aquatic dwelling organisms by any method in Oklahoma. Exemptions include nonresidents under 14, and nonresidents under 16 who are residents of Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin. Residents of Texas who are 65 years of age or older are also exempt."

Unless Texoma has a special rule and is not included in the over 65 category.

You need a Texas license and your dad needs no license.

Anyone born before Jan. 1, 1931 is not required to have a license which covers the exclusion for your dad. Texas does not exempt people over 65 years of age from license requirements other than stated above.
However, your Senior Super Combo License has your fishing license covered since OK exempts those over 65 if fishing on their side.
Looks like you are good to go fish

Thanks. I think we are OK.
Plans have firmed up. Will be at High Port Marina 10-28 to 10-31.
Look for us in a REALLY small 6ft wide by 14 ft long pontoon boat.
