Lokking to purschase a mapping chip for my Lowrance HDS7 Gen 1.
Looking into Navionics. Which is the better, Premium or Platinum? Not sure which way to go. Mostly I crappie fish.
Thanks for any input.

I had a 2009 Premium East which I decided to "upgrade" to a 2012 Platinum with the Freshest Data. I can see no difference in 2009 Premium & 2012 Platinum seems I wasted my money. The Freshest Data hasn't shown any improvement either. My HDS8 has Insight and while not the 1' contour intervals it seems more accurate than the Navionics.

One road bed is about 200' off on the Navionics buit dead on with Insight. I emailed Navionics about this and still no Fresest Data update. Even told them they could pirate a accurate mapping from the Insight.

You may want to look at the Insight HD if it has the high def mapping for the lakes you fish. I thought about changing, but the Insight HD doesn't have the HD for the lakes I fish here in NC.
