The ONLY place WAS over by the dam but it closed a year ago so I have to go ALL the way out to Fishermens supply off I30 near Ray Hubbard so I buy a pound and keep them in my 75 gal fish/minnow tank at home...but if you go to the boat ramps just before sun rise and through a through net you'll get plenty of shad just the right size for crappie or cat's or even bass...

Thanks txsmoker! Yeah, I usually buy live bait from that old store on top of the hill on Munger Rd. I havent fish the area like 10 years. Just coming back home and want to try the lake out again. I forgot about the Fishermens store. Thanks.

They closed the one that was on the hill. The closest one is fisherman supply. But depending on where you are coming from, you can just buy them on the way. Grapevine is wherever usually get mine from or Arlington.

Thanks guy. I used to live near Joe Pool. I usually can get my live minners there. Plenty of live bait stores in south Dallas, Grand Prairie and Arlington area.

fishing supply minnows kinda suck anyways. the large are still to big and mediums to small IMO
