Anyway......
Idea came from a friend.
Pretty easy: copper round stock, romex wire, solder, stretch of line.
Tryed it on dry land and it worked like a charm!

Yes Calliham is good to launch. Was there Monday and it is still tuff. Some white bass action on schooling up shad in main lake areas. River is very muddy. Water up some from 2 weeks ago.

I have been using south shore because the water is clearer on that end of the lake. From what I understand talking with friends, all ramps are still open at Choke. Its around 12' low right now, up about 2' from all the rain a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for the feedback, men.
Hope the bite improves cause I'm chomping at the bit!
Regardless, it's always fun to fish new water.

Be careful at S. Shore. last time we launched the skeg would drag bottom. Very skinny water over ramp...1 1/2-2 ft deep 2 weeks ago

I'll keep it in mind. THanks!
More than likely we'll only launch at Calliham, since we're staying there.

Yes, i don't know what's at the bottom of the ramp but as I was putting my boat on the trailer I hit something, good thing I had my jack plate up a few inches and I was coming in slow.

even if you're not catching fish but you see activity just keep working the area and changing baits, they'll let you know what they want.

Skunked Saturday afternoon. Wind was too much for my tin can. Wind usually dictates where I fish on choke unfortunately. I would say fish what your confident with vary your presentations/retrievals until the fish tell you what they want.
Don't over think it (like I often do) Don't go swimming there no matter how refreshing it looks. Shat your pants before wandering into the bushes. Keep a net handy...cause you never know... Enjoy!
