10 year old 150 Mercury Saltwater 2-Stroke with oil pump.

I prime the motor and get going great. EASY startup and idle. Gets up to 6,000 RPM and smooth sailing. After I'm done fishing and drive back, the boat will cut-off if going over 3,000 RPM, sometimes less. Primer bulb is limp as heck and gets limp fast while running. Engine gets really warm sometimes too.

Where to start looking for the culprit? Leak? Pump?

Also, this has happened twice but only after the first stop of fishing.

Thanks

First off is if a primer stays hard after starting the engine, then you have one of two problems, 1. the primer ball is bad, or 2, the fuel line is not connected to the engine. The primer brings the fuel to the engine, via thru two check balls. Once the engine starts the check balls goes into a neutral position to allow the fuel to pass thru it without restriction. Your "run great then" shut off at 3K is most likely related to electrical issue like a dying CDI box or Stator. Not fuel related. because fuel related does not work great then just decide to Not work great, If it fails, it just don't come back. However electrical does do just that,
