I use a handheld Garmin with a dash mount and power cord into the lighter. Works great, you can save routes and waypoints. I recently got a finder with GPS and still go back to my held held. It updates very fast and is accurate. I think the newer H20 units have built in maps or are chip friendly.

heres something to keep in mind abt handhelds also, some float, some dont. the garmin rino does not float, so I have a small pool bouy tied to it, in case it goes into the drink. Getting a model that floats may be a good idea. if u ever lost it, after years of waypoints stored, it would be a terrible thing to go thru.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

love my handheld (Garmin 60 CSX) works great for marking & going back to brushpiles. And like Ernest said, then you still have all your spots when you go in someone else's boat.

I used a Garmin eTrex (handheld) for several years before I got a graph with GPS. I had no problem going back to waypoints that I'd marked.

I used a Garmin eTrex (handheld) it works fine, just understand the handheld units are only accurate + or - 8 ft.
