I'm probably gonna hit a jetty on the seawall in Galveston again. Anyone got any predictions/tips on the fishing this weekend? I'm still new to the saltwater thing.

Think there will still be a bunch of mullet cruising around the jetties? Need to work on my cast netting so I can maybe catch some fresh. There was a chit ton last weekend. Even saw a couple dolphins workin em about 50 yards off the end of the jetty, pretty sweet site to see.

Thanks y'all!

I'm predicting flounder actions is gonna heat up right before a peak high tide this weekend in the surrounding Galveston areas.Work the Galveston channels near any structures is my best bet. Also the ferry landing,Sea wolf park, the barge graveyard over in Bolivar, the ditch in Bolivar and all your other hot spots.I'll be down there this weekend slaughtering them flounders.Gigging at night and then combed the Galveston channels with my arties.

I'll be at Port A fishing the surf and jetties. If you see four guys in a big black dodge dually, that'll be us. I would love to meet some fellow TFF'ers so come say hello if you see us out and about.

Sounds like y'all got some fun trips comin up!

a2f- I've heard alot about the flounder heatin up recently. Last weekend a guy that showed up at the jetty about 10 mins before me leaving caught a nice fat keeper. Hopefully I can get into some of those out there.

wiwf- how's it been out at Rollover? I need to make it out there atleast once more before the alleged closing. Just not a huge fan of fishing elbow to elbow with people

.....looking at the Solunar and tide tables it looks like Saturday will be picking up...then Sunday it ought to be ON through Tuesday. The flatfish are starting to move, but contrary to what you might read on various sites this isn't the big migration yet. There are so many flatties in Galveston Bay that I think it's just the normal.
The "saddle blankets" are still up in the guts and what folks are getting now is just the first start as the males start heading out. The shrimp have just started moving but I think it will take another front to really get things heated up so that we can target the birds.

.....look for mud boils in about 6-8ft of water as the reds are out in full force unless you head into the grass flats south of the Causeway. There's a ton of nice fish in there!!

...so good it tastes like it died screaming!

Finding them flounders was tough today.Due to the extreme windy condition fishing areas was limited.Started out with arties and did not catch any flounders.Switch to live mullet and caught a few. Here's my future fishing buddy in training with a few of the flounders he caught.
