Magnobond 55-2 is the material that comes with a shoot thru transducer to bond it to the bilge of the boat.
Can anyone tell me an epoxy that will work? And where to get it?

Devcon 2ton....waterproof and solid....ace hardware...get the 30min...so that u have time to lay it up...

Gorilla glue makes a good Epoxy as well. Home Depot

As long as it is a slow curing(24 hrs) epoxy and a not a quick set it will work.

I would not use a fast curing epoxy as they are more prone to bubbles and will cause your ducer to not read as clear. Most TM shops sell the small packs of the stuff Lowrance uses and its great as well as inexpensive. I would do it right the first time if I were you.

Does silicon not work?

Silicon is a no no. Be sure to rough up the bottom of the transcuder with sandpaper to get a better bond.

Bob silicone has always worked great for me, I use the chemibond brand. I was sure glad I did not use epoxy when my transducer died since skeeters have a specific spot in the hull to place the ducer, silicone can be removed but epoxy is forever.

Devcon 2 ton works great. I have used it on several boats, never a problem. I also use plumbers 2 part epoxy putty. Take the plumbers putty roll into a small round strand about as big as a pencil long enough to go competly around transduce. Stick it in the well where you want your transducer. It creates a dam, fill with epoxy & insert transducer. Have done this for years never had a problem.
