This thread is all kinds of win.
If you have a valid license, caught the fish in a legal way and from a place legal to do so then go right ahead and eat what you catch.I don't like fish or i'd do the same once in awhile...especially with my recent luck

Bass taste a little strong for me. I guess if you soak them in milk for a while it may cut down on that some.

I'm no history freak but if that's true what you say about tenn volunteers were promised land in Texas. Then it doesn't sound like the volunteered anything. Sound like they traded their services and alot traded their lives at a chance to have land in tx.

Yankee? You might want to study your history books there cowboy. TN folks are way more "southern" than Texans, and we got the Volunteer State name from sending 30,000 troops to bail y'all out of the Mexican-American War. You're a Yankee too...

Nice catch and good job with the knife. I love bass and I wish Louisiana would drop the length limit to 10 or 12 inches so we can clear out the mini monsters we have here.
The bass do not get as big here, around 5-6lbs is a monster. There are tons of 12-13 1/2" fish and they are full of meat. You catch a 12" bass where I fish and you think you have a 3 or 4lber on the line. Every year these little fish seem to double and triple. Catching is not a problem. It's catching a quality fish.
I sure miss the stump dodging on Lake Fork...But I'm coming back soon to catchOVER the slot! 👍🏾

I guess TN has a different limit cause I see 6 bass kept. In Texas it's only 5. Hum you don't keep catfish you said you have only kept 3 but bass you eat away. Catfish taste a lot better than bass do. Actually there are 7 on the stringer and it was my cuz and I that went. 2 spots look like 1 big largie. Amazingly I got into 3 slab crappie on some smaller threads!! That was a first for me. Something I forgot to add is that these were caught in the headwaters of Nickajack Lake, where the creel is: 5 bass, (1 of which can be a smallie) AND 15 spotted bass per person per day. As you can tell from the regs, the area is absolutely LOADED with bass, especially the carnivorousness spotted bass. As to the troll comments, you have your opinion, what I did was not only legal & ethical but was within the guidelines set forth by Tenn Wildlife biologists. I dont do this everyday, in fact I catch more bass than most tourney anglers around here. THEY kill far more at the weigh-in than I do all year long. I noodled 5 days in Texas this spring, and I can tell you we did not harm a single fish, me and my buds are EXTREMELY careful not to injure a fish, I cry when folks carry out 3, 5 10, 30 giant flatheads in one day. That's madness.
No Strings Attached Noodling.

Hmmmm bubba you must not be in the same louisiana i am bc 5-6 lbers don't even get pictures. In fact typically til around 8 lbs i don't waste pics unless it ate a bait real deep or had two hooked at once or some other oddity. I had a 5.46 and a 2 lber on a 300DD bluegil crank the other day.
