I use neopren sometimes.. I have some made buy Shimano that have fold away fingers.... Kind of more trouble then they are worth... I got them at Academy in NRH. I just use hand warmers... works better for me.

get you some of the wool gloves with the fingers that fold away. Put your hand warmers inside the palm. Be careful- some of the handwarmers get too hot.

This might sound dumb but use baseball batting gloves if you like just cut out the fingers. Just my .02

Bass Pro had some fleece gloves in their flyfishing dept. that had exposed fingers and some that even had a mitt to cover the fingers but would velcro out of the way when you need your fingers. Around 8 bucks.

If I am not mistaken, you are looking for gloves that will not retain water. Academy generally sells the elbow length neoprene gloves for duck hunting. They work good for fishing in the winter, except it's hard to tie a hook with them on. Best bet is to keep a few dry hand towels and the hand warmer that these others were referring to. ------------------ www.nightfishing.net

In general, I can't stand to fish w/gloves on. I've tried a lot of options, neoprene would fall to the bottom of the list. I use the brown 'jersey' gloves you can buy anywhere for $.99. The one's with the rubber nipples (no JJ jokes) help while I'm driving. My buddy swears by the wool gloves. The batting gloves sound good. But, like Kat said, I go with the towel as long as I can.
Sidebar: if you smoke or drink alcohol, your extremities will get colder due to restricted blood flow.
Keep it wet.

I found some gloves at Walmart called SUG. Over in the underware and tshirts. They have them with fingers and witout. They are a combination of what feels like neoprene and fabric. The palms have rubber pieces for grip. They are not bulky at all. I got the ones without the fingers and paid I think 6 or 8 dollars. What I am going to do is go back and get the full finger ones too so I can use a full for the right hand to reel with and the no fingered ones for palming the rod and reel. They also have many colors in case you want to match your boat, vest or whatever, if you care.

batting gloves are leather, after you get them wet in the morning wont they stay that way for a while. they will shrink too wont they? i buy the small stretch gloves they have at walmart, yes they are typically inthe ladies department. i cut out which ever fingers i want to and can slide full size gloves on over them to warm up or when im running the lake. they cost under $2 for 2 pair. if you have large hands they arent for you.
Ever rubbed under your nose on a cold morning with the neo gloves that have the velcro on the backside of the fingers? OUCH!

Shimano makes some neoprene fishing gloves. The tips of the thumb and the forefinger pull-off and velcro back, plus there is a velcro strap that goes around the wrist area to keep the gloves from sliding down. They key to these gloves are to put them on while your hands are still warm. I have found they hold heat well once they are already warm.

I used some mechanics gloves last weekend. They're the tightest fit and provide the most flexability out of the 4 or so pairs of gloves that I have. Worked pretty well too.

I don't know how ya'll manage on really cold mornings with those itty bitty gloves; I wear big a** ski gloves. They're not much good for worming, but I fish a crankbait, spinnerbait, or jig with no problem.
