Let's just toss the salad one more time. I would go with the Skeeter and then jazz it up with the best and most expensive HDS I could find. Like one with such a big bright screen that I would look like a Christmas tree on the water at night. Add the power-pole and hydrowave and I'm good to go. Can't go wrong with either. It's a win win, win win win.

I would add another thought. Which model of each boat. A Z225 will not ride rough water like a I22. A Z520 will not ride like a Z522 either. The big boats will not run with the shorter boat. The big boats are harder to get around in the timber. There are so many variables to think about over just what maker. I would take a Z522 over a Z225. I would take a I22 over the Z520. I have different likes in my boat.

Get what you like. I love my new Z521. If you fish lots of timber or super shallow look at the shorter models. You can pretty much throw out testimonials from your favorite fishing pro, their sponsorship clouds their judgement sometimes.

Had 4 Sketter and 3 Rangers- the Ranger is the Cadilac as far as quality goes but the Sketter handles rough water better, drier - I think overall the Ranger is better and the fact that they keep parts for the total boat at their business is easy to get where as Skeeter subs some things out ,like locks and don't have replacements for their products some times --- makes it Ranger over all and the Ranger resales better as far as cash value goes

Ask the guy that owns the fiberglass shop:) I had a 2012 Skeeter Z20 and now own a 2012 Ranger Z521. Ranger is better by far EXCEPT my Yamaha Sho on the Skeeter had a better hole shot than my Ranger with a Mercury on it. But the Mercury gets better gas mileage and the Ranger rides better. At the end of the day, I prefer Ranger for sure.

my 521 with a sho is getting a whole lot better mileage than my triton tr22 with a yamy 250. Loved my triton, but man that ranger is just a hoot to drive

Skeeter all day. Best fishing platform in any boat. You spend most of ur time on ur boat fishing so pick the boat that is the most comfortable to fish out of. Rides good in rough water and has a very durable hole. IV put mime through allot and love it
