i have been looking alot lately for a boat to buy. for some reason the 3 best deals that i have found the seller for one reason or another didnt have the title to the boat and motor. each of them have told me "oh thats not a problem your can get this title for it or that title for it".....my question is...would you take the chance with purchasing a boat in this situation or not...also if you would please explain why you would.

some states don't require a boat to have a title to register it. Georgia is one. So a lot of boat owners in Georgia do not have a title for their boat. Texas is a pain in the arse on the title registration process.

would you pay for a car - in full - and drive it away with no title? no.

same with a boat.

also, when you are looking - don't let on you will be a new boat owner. folks with shady intentions can smell that a mile away and will take advantage it.

one of the boats im looking at is in georgia matter of fact. as far as letting on about being a new boat owner..its hard for me not to let them know, because its just the way i am. im slowly learning what to check when i go look at them. the boat in georgia is really nice(at least in the pics) and i know people can alter pics or send the wrong ones. he is in the military and goig overseas and cant take the boat. hes already been willing to knock 300 of the price to help pay for the shipping or fuel if i was to go get it

Check with Texas what you would have to do to register the boat from Georgia. Tell the seller what it would cost and explain the hassle you would have to go through and see if he will compensate you for it. As long as he can show you his registration card on the boat and it matches the serial #'s you can be assured it's not stolen.
