I was thinking about trying one of these out. I was reading on there website about it, and the description said " based on Falcons legendary made in the USA blank".
Anybody know if the blank is made in the U.S., or does this mean it is Falcons design, that is manufactured overseas somewhere?

I just bought the cranker last week and plan to try it out on Friday. I will let you know what I think after I hit the water but my initial impressions are great. The rod is soooo light and has a really good feel. I did notice it is thinner than most other rods I picked up but have not heard many posts about the rod breaking so it must be pretty strong as well. Good luck.

They are made in Broken Arrow Oklahoma a suburb of Tulsa. I live 10 miles from their plant. Sure is nice if I need a repair like a broken tip. Great folks and resonable onsite repair. I have several Bucco's and still like the Falcon Originals. Academy has the Originals on sale for $69. Picked up Heavy Action 7' Original today for an upcoming trip to Falcon.

I have heard the Heavy is more like a MH, and the MH, more like a M. What are yall's opinions on this? Does the action of the rod match the rating stamped on it?

Hard to say since there isn't a standard for what those terms mean. I have an MH bucoo that I bought for deep cranking. Of the rods I looked at, the tip did seem softer than the others (Dobyns, Duckett, Shimano) which is why I chose it. It throws 5XDs just fine. I wouldn't say it is a medium action rod. Most of the rods I have are medium action rods, and the 5xd overpowers those rods--not allowing the rod to unload properly.

Great rod for the money. I prefer my Lowriders but that is because I like cork better than the EVA foam.

I should also add that I have a Garcia Vendetta MH that feels like a pool cue. I don't own a bait heavy enough to load that rod--so it's used for flipping and pitching
