I have heard alot about Yellow Magic and I look forward on Throwing it but until I do, You cannot beat a Chug Bug, I have thrown it and got bites on it when no other top water would work.

A little backstory...
Clunn took the mods that Zell was doing to the Pop'Rs, incorporated it into the Rico, and had Lobino Lures start making them in limited quantities.
Sanding down the sides, cutting down the bottom lip, filling in the mouth, and adding chicken feather to the back hook.
Bob Driggers from Conroe, used to sell em for $25 out of the back of his suburban at Anglers Choice and Honey Hole T's.
That was back in the early 90's when $5 was alot for a bait.
Yellow Magic started to mass produce and became the standard
Rico was first and IMHO still the best.
That is not quite accurate... Zell Rowland made the Rebel Pop-R famous but it was his Japanese friend named Izumi that first started sanding the bodies and tuning them. I still have several. Rick got his first ones from Izumi. Then Rico got involved.

Idk if many people fish them but the heddon popper has always been my favorite, like this one..  This man knows what he's talking about!^^^

I have a Yellow Magic and have caught a lot of fish on it, but as mentioned above that Heddon is the real deal. My best top water day ever came on the Heddon.
