Arlington lake is the closest lake to where i live...15mins...been wanting to kayak out there for crappie but didn't want to drive to south end of the lake ( by the bridges and streams...water probably too low anyways)

I launched at the north end of the lake of Arkansas.. took about 5 hours to limit out since i was experimenting and loosing fish left and right...that's what happens when u use 2 rods.... one with minnow and sliding floater, the other with slab slayer...

Finally put the slab slayer away since i didn't want to waste minnows...and just killed it out there... biggest one was at least a solid 1 pound... (sorry no pix)

Fished in 10 feet of water..right off the bottom pretty much...they were hitting everything...

WTG. I was raised on Lake Arlington and I cant get enough. Glad you were able to get into them today. Seems like everyone on the water was able to do well.

I have fished there a few times and that lake has plenty of shad. I have never had any good luck but have only fished the docks. Guess I have to put the little boat out. Wtg

yeah...the dock fishing is a good disguise to the actual fishing on the lake.... In fact i was hesitant to launch the kayak due to the dock fishing...been on the dock a few times and it's pretty boring...takes forever to catch something.... That place is fished out....

Once you get out of that entire shore line by the docks... and actually fish other areas of the lake...it's pretty good.... lots of catfish, bass, crappie, sand bass...and although it's a junk fish...there's a lot of drum out there as well...

If you get the opportunity to go out on the lake... take a bunch of live night crawlers... you'll catch everything except crappie...i promise...

I got my new oar locks in, so I will be out there in my fish hunter soon. So, if you see me out with my fish basket and minnow bucket in tow, stop by. I have gotten a few of the spots from the regulars, so hope to be out there ketch'n too, soon.
