I'm going to go with shallow as a relative term. Some lakes shallow is less than 10 feet and some its less than a foot. When I say I'm fishing shallow I mean I'm fishing shallower than 90% of the other boats I saw that day.

I moved to Ft. Worth about 8 years ago and started fishing Lake Worth because it is about 10 minutes from my house. Long-time Lake Worth fishermen told me that if I wasn't kicking up mud with the trolling motor I was fishing too deep. I thought they were kidding. They weren't!

if the sunflower seed doesn't float in the water when i spit it out, then its shallow!
