Wait for the new HDS unit to hit the market

Structure scan built in, touch screen!

If Lowrance is your choice then wait for the new touch screen or get the older one much cheaper.

Unless you just love screwing a bunch of extra parts and wires to your boat...wait for the new "self contained" units. No Structure scan to add.

I would go with Lowrance. I'm going to get my popcorn ready because this one's going to take a while.

How long am I going to have to wait...
When is the new one comeing out...
And I like the lowrance because of the shape of the 8" screen
I can't afford the 10" and don't like the shape of the hummingbird ...

The new 7" touch screens are out BUT the new 9" (yes 9", not 8") are supposed to be out in something like a month or so and the 12" are around January. The advantage of the new touch screens is the LSS box is built into the unit, instead of being a seperate add on. It was mentioned above but I wasnt sure if you knew what he meant.

You will be able to get a gen 2 used for a decent price but if your buying a new graph check out boemarine.com , they had the best prices when I bought my graphs and no sales tax & free shipping. I saved a couple hundred bucks by buying with them. Good luck

New HDS just hit market today at BPS Garland and they are sweet. 7in 9in and 11in. Built in structure now and all touch screen. With playback for easily marking waypoints you missed.

It's personal preference. Go put your hands on both then decide.

Personal preference. I had a chance to get on staff with Humminbird which would have been a discount. But, I chose a Lowrance. Also, I would have had to give up my Power Pole sponsorship. It is a package deal with Minn Kota.
