This is the first time I have posted in this section. I usually guide for the white bass and hybirds on Cooper lake. I have been catching crappie while fishing for those other fish so i started marking all the spots that I caught crappie by accident. So just about every day off I have had I have been doing my homework fine tunning were those schools of crappie are. I have been finding them in 14-22ft on main lake brush piles and humps with stumps. I have been catching the bigger fish on the stumps. I am using jigs of various sizes depending on the wind. Best color being blk/red/chartruse. Let me say Cooper lake is LOADED with crappie. (I know a few locals will not like me letting the cat out of the bag.) I will be carrying crappie trips this fall and winter on Cooper. Cooper lake has great state parks with cabins, camping , cleaning stations and the nices staff around. Here is a few pics of the last couple of weeks.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
