Ive only owned a 11' 2 man bass buggy for fishing and its great for creeks, rivers, and not going very far from shore. Im wanting to start looking for a used boat that i can get to the deeper better spots for catfishing. i dont have the money to buy a new boat, so i will be looking for a used one. Im wanting to know your opinion on what type of boat i should look for. My friend has a pro craft bass boat but he said its not really for catfishing, so im looking for advice on what i should look into buying. Thank you in advance for your input.

I suggest a deep v hull with a 100 to 125 hp motor so it can take big waves and water. I just bought a 19 ft blue fin fishing boat gave 2200 for it and I have had it on some big lakes and waves and it handles them quite nice. Google that boat and you will get a good idea of where to start. Good luck!!!

I prefer center console boats......I love the layout, and most of them don't have carpet and fancy upholstery to mess up

I have a ranger that I've been slowly converting over to catfishing and its a duel console which makes it worse. If I could I would get a pontoon or center console or even aluminum deep V

Love my pontoon, they are not for everyone but I love mine.
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

I just bought a deep V with a Cuddy for the family. We Love to stay out on the lake over night when we go on our family excursions. . But I do like pontoons but I also wanted to have something to keep the girls out of the weather when need be. 87 Trophy Bayliner restored rebuilt motor 150hp

I've got a 19' Bluewave CC and a Hobie Pro Angler kayak. Both are exactly what I want.

i like center consoles when they are very wide. im a pretty big guy, and some smaller CC dont have enough room between the console and the side of the boat. i dont like having to turn sideways to slide past. my next boat will be either a pontoon boat, or a walleye boat like this just w/o the down riggers

Falcons all the way!! I like the Blue Wave also, but the console is a hindrance to me. I've fished in them all and the Falcon front center console is the toughest, most user-friendly, most stable boat on the water. I've got two and need to sell one if anyone is interested.

I fish a 20 foot WeldCraft with 6 monsters along each rail. Lowarance FF and wireless Motorguide trolling motor. Also wouldnt fish without my power pole for skinny water fishing. That thing is a lifesaver.

Love my Xpress HD22CC. I don't think the "perfect" boat is out there unless you custom build but am very happy with mine overall.
