Get there early - be in position just before sunrise. My experience has been good fishing from sunrise until noon and then it shuts off.
Find rocky points on the main lake (from the dam all the way to Wolf Island). I fish this pattern all year long and only add creeks to this pattern in the spring. Secondary points were pretty good last weekend in the rain. Based on last week, find cover like stumps or grass on the points and you're improving your chances. Fish in shallow water (6 ft. or less) but make sure there's deep water nearby.
Start with topwater lures at sunup from the edge of the bank to 10' depth (Yellow Magic).
When topwater bite ends throw KVD 1.5 Sexy Shad crankbait in shallow water (close to the bank) off rocky points.
If that slows down, drag a 5/16 oz green pumpkin or peanut butter and jelly colored Booyah jig with a matching color Zoom Chunk Jr. trailer from the bank to 15'. Keep the jig on the bottom and drag it over the rocks sloooooowly. If you can find a dropoff, pull it slowly to the edge and let it fall. I whacked a bunch of fish this way last weekend.
If that doesn't work throw a pumpkin or blue/black 5" Senko from the bank to 15'. A Carolina rigged Fluke or creature bait may work as well.
If these dont work, or it gets past noon, pack up, throttle up the 519 and go sightseeing or go home and come back another day.
Ray Bob is one of my favorite place to fish after Fork, but you have to have a lot of patience to fish it. The bass will hammer anything you throw in the water on occasion, but more often than not will turn their nose up at anything and everything you throw.
Light a cigar, enjoy the scenery and enjoy your 519 (I have the same boat). The fish will show up at some point.
