I have never been to the Guadalupe River and I am wanting to float and fish with either kayak/canoe or small row boat. Is there good put in and take out spots? Is there enough water right now?
Any help and info would be great thanks

CJG,
I haven't been to the Guad in about a month but its always a great time to fish or float. In fact in October they will be having the Texas Holdover Tournament later in the month (Trout Tourney). The water is always cool below the dam (Canyon Lake) so depending on the weather you may or may not need to add a layer. It's supposed to be fall and cool down but you know how Texas weather can be. That being said there are numerous places to put in and outfitters that can do shuttle services if you need to. A simple google search will bring the locations up on the map. See their web site for exact locations and rates.
If you want a detailed guide book for purchase (online and other fly shops) that also lists exact locations, access, and other tips from Canyon Lake to I-35- it just published from texasriverbum.com. The site also has good information (free) like water flow tables on Hill Country Rivers.
Hope this helps and gives you some insight. Be sure to share your tip and always take a few fish pics to share!
Tight lines! Anthony

Trout tournament ? I know I was there about a month ago an the water was 80+ degrees in a lot of spots is there any left from past stockings ? If so I hope with all the rain the water has cooled down an they should start letting more water out of the Damn to help cooool it down. Any hints where the left over surviving trout would be ?
everyday is a learning experience ....... if your not learning why try ?

Upstream, above Fourth Crossing. Fish the dark green water, deep in the troughs. Fish will look for aerated water, so fish below riffles and weirs. Fish early, as close to sunrise as possible. Leave them alone once it warms up.
