Why does everyone say "kill it" or "shotgun please"? Let's kill all lions, tigers, and bears(oh my!) etc... I'm sure everything will be better off Dorothy(maybe Nancy is better). Oh and your dog might bite me, so I better just kill it too. Good idea. You hope your dog bites an uninvited person, but what are you in the snake habitat? Its called being on top of the food chain.... I dont see any lions over here. Here's a tree. maybe yall should hug?

Eat it...wrap it in BACON and jalepina peppers and smother it with Jack Daniel BBQ sauce. Some corn on the cob and ranch style beans and wash it down with Lone Star...that's how I Texize that snake and make it likable.

I worked with them for many years. I'm just saying you can't kill all of them or it messes up that food chain you mentioned.

Go give that reptile a hug and kiss then in its habitat or mine and see if it likes you back.... just sayin. They are freakin dangerous and would bite the heck out of a child who don't know any better. A dead snake is a good snake.

I would have a dead snake and several holes in the bed of my truck! Not to mention new undershorts!
I fish to live, not live to fish!

If it was a corn snake I would have relocated it. Would only take a few min to do. I thought as sportsmen/outdoorsmen we have responsibility to the wildlife. Killing an animal for the sake of killing is wrong. If you feel threatend by the corn snake you could wack it with your purse. Rattlers are another story though.
Good to hear you let it go.

Looks like an already freeze dried rattler to me, that you can buy in just about every truck stop across America...
As far as "grab a gun", I don't totally agree with the "tree hugger". I don't especially have a love affair going on with reptiles, snakes in particular and I've got a wall full of deer heads, but I've come to realize that God put creatures on this earth for a purpose. My wife and I live on a pretty good chunk of land in the country; if the snake is in the back pasture, he lives; if he up at the house and poisonous, he dies. Pretty simple rules. I used to kill everything that walks, crawls or flies, but I've reached a point where I just don't think we should do that. Just sayin'......
