We finally caught one of the elusive Eagle Mountain hybrids... Son caught this 4.5 pounder on a crankbait at the east dam today.

Yeah do that. Cowtown saw you'all out there for a long time . Told my buddy you all may of caught a hybrid because you were in that area for a long time. We have caught a lot in that area most of them trolling. Nice fish hope you let him go. My customers have released a several in that area.

In '98 I caught several nice hybrids out of that canyon on north side of the hump near the east end of the east dam.

Sandjohnny, we only got the one hybrid but the LMB and the sandbass were all pushed up close to the rocks all morning by that north wind and they were keeping us busy. We found that to be the pattern all over the lake. We probably had close to 50 fish that morning and all but a couple came on crank baits near the shore. The key was windblown banks and especially points. We had about 20 LMB up to 3.5 pounds, 25 or more sand bass, one 10+ carp, couple of perch, couple of rock bass, a turtle and the one hybrid. Everything was released and we had to leave them biting because our trolling motor batteries crapped out.
