Perch can be tough but this is definitly a...
Dollar Sunfish.
I have studied perch, brim or whatever you want to call them for years. Often they can hybridize buit this is a true red blodded dollar sunfish.

Definatly NOT a dollar sunfish.
It's a beautifully colored up male longear sunfish. A great addition to your native tank!
I do this for a living (and have been working on the Brazos collecting fish for the past 10 years, and all over the state for that matter)...

are they worth anything because i catch them often in my throw net on the Brazos?

are they worth anything because i catch them often in my throw net on the Brazos? Their value is only in their beauty in your personal tank. It is illegal to sell native fish taken from public waters without a nongame collection permit.

Thank u. I love having a native aquarium. Its great when friends ask where I get my fish and I reply "the brazos" lol. Native fish are beautiful in a aquarium and fun to watch. Look how they stackup against the cover in the pic below. Everything is from the brazos in my setup. including the rock and drift wood.
