Today on Tawakoni! - **VIDEO**




Just as Matt and Joe have reported, the fishing on Tawakoni has improved about as much as you could ask. Water temps are holding steady between 75-80 and it seems like EVERYTHING in the lake is gettin' frisky!

Ducks

EVEN LOONS and PELICANS!

When all these furry fish eating critter's show up, you better set down your bow and rifle and get to tha lake!

The fish are feeding good in the mornings and the last few trips i've had out have had all the action they could ask for. Minus the rain, conditions have been perfect. Chunking 1.5oz slabs from FLE-FLY has been our ticket...while sassy shads are also producing fish. If you want to really have fun, toss a 1/4 oz jig head rigged w/ Light's out Tackles CR specials on 6lb test. Absolutely awesome! Nothin' like hearing those Shimano spinning reels sing the key of G for bout' 5 minutes! :rolfmao:







If fish go down and stay down...motor around sharp contours and drop-offs near where the fish surface and you are liable to find hungry schools of fish willing to feed in one place longer than 5 minutes. Yesterday we got on a school that fed off the bottom for about 20 minutes. 5 guys casting, and almost a fish on every cast. I was busy, dizzy and tuckered out!

Later yesterday, my afternoon trip wanted catfish but I snuck in some hybrid rods and made the "LONG WAY" to the catfish hole and AGAIN found willing hybrids. We played that game for about 30 minutes then went and sacked up 100 fat catfish before getting blown off tha lake HURRICANE style.







I had to cancel this mornings trip due to extremely high winds out on the main lake. About noon I couldn't stand it anymore and HAD to TRY it OUT! It was AWESOME!

Overall, the fishing is just flat out awesome right now and should maintain through OCT & Nov...

I have a couple of weekend dates available, especially in the afternoon.
