I went for a quick trip this morning; fished from about 7:15am-10:45am. I've been out three times in the last two weeks and today was the best so far.
Sandies were chasing shad all morning, so I was able to get on some schooling fish. They never really came together for a long period but it was pretty consistent action and I left them biting.
Water temp was 78 degrees and all fish were caught in 6-15 FOW. The grub tail crappie jigs in yellow or white produced the best for me today.
Caught about 40 total, still lots of dinks in the mix. The bigger fish came from casting out and letting the jig sink 8-9 seconds then a steady retrieve.

It came across as a rhetorical question, which is basically accusing me of poaching, and I don't appreciate any implication of that. If you were sincere then I apologize. Catfish are usually a surprise to me when I catch them. The only times I have been specifically fishing for them was on a Veteran's day trip with Bobby and once to a family friend's pond as a small kid. This one is going to get blackened up and eaten for lunch today.

I asked it so nobody else did. I leave all my rhetoric at the office. I'm just here for fun. I fish for catfish A Lot. I am always surprised when I catch them on lures. You can't beat blackend catfish on a rainy afternoon. Welcome to the TFF.

My son and I fished EM two weeks ago. I caught a catfish about that size trolling! That was a first for me. If I didnt know better, I thought I had hooked a stripper. Put up quite a fight. Caught it on a silver spoon trolling near the Azle water intake

Only bad thing about catching them while trolling is they'll twist your line to pieces turning around and around.
