Not good at all. Get a cherry wood if you want a decent cheap rod.

Cherrywood is a great lite cranking rod. 7 foot medium.

What about the $30 dollar Tourney Choice Premier's? I picked one up the other day because they looked and felt decent for the price and had the length and action I was looking for.

I think they are good rods for the money.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

i think you would be better off with a lightening rod or cherrywood.

What about the $30 dollar Tourney Choice Premier's? I picked one up the other day because they looked and felt decent for the price and had the length and action I was looking for. I picked one of these up (Premier) last winter (spinning rod 7' med action) to pair with a spare reel I had sitting in my closet. Clearance price was like $6.88 so hard to pass up especially since I figured it was only going to be used as a spare/buddy outfit. Turns out it has actually become one of my favorite rods. Good feel and action and enough backbone to handle anything its faced to date.
This might be the weirdest, most pointless post ever. I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing
